Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Madrasah: Jurnal Pendidikan Madrasah undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, scientific integrity, and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope.
Upon submission, each manuscript is subject to an initial screening conducted by the Editor-in-Chief to assess its suitability with the journal’s focus, scope, and publication standards. At this stage, manuscripts may be rejected without external review if they fall outside the journal’s scope, fail to meet basic academic standards, exhibit significant methodological weaknesses, or do not comply with the journal’s author guidelines.
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening will be assigned to an editor for further evaluation. The editor will assess the originality of the research, the significance of its scholarly contribution, the appropriateness of the research design and methodology, the quality of manuscript presentation, and its relevance to the field of madrasah education.
Eligible manuscripts will then be sent to at least two independent reviewers who possess expertise relevant to the subject area of the manuscript and have no conflicts of interest with either the authors or the research under review. The journal adopts a Double-Blind Peer Review system, whereby the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to ensure objectivity, fairness, and academic integrity.
In evaluating manuscripts, reviewers consider the following criteria:
- Originality and novelty of the research;
- Relevance to the field of madrasah education;
- Theoretical and practical contributions to knowledge development;
- Appropriateness and rigor of the research methodology;
- Accuracy and validity of data analysis;
- Quality of discussion and interpretation of findings;
- Clarity, coherence, and organization of the manuscript;
- Quality and relevance of the references cited.
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may issue one of the following decisions:
- Accept Submission
- Minor Revisions Required
- Major Revisions Required
- Resubmit for Review
- Decline Submission
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the comments and recommendations provided by the reviewers and editors and must submit a detailed response to each review comment. Where necessary, revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation.
The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript rests solely with the Editor-in-Chief, taking into consideration the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor’s evaluation, and the journal’s publication standards.
Throughout the review process, all manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Information related to submitted manuscripts, reviewer identities, editorial decisions, and all associated correspondence will be kept strictly confidential and used solely for scholarly evaluation purposes.
